Video Walkthrough - Roofing Price Book Example

Learn to use the Price Book with a real-world example of a Roofing project.

Roofing Example

Refer to THIS article for a more general overview of how to create items inside Builder Prime’s Price Book feature. For definitions of commonly used terms, refer to THIS article. Below are the steps to create a Price Book example for the Roofing project.

First, create a parent category: Roofing. Everything will be “under” this main category.

Next, make Subcategories for different brands used. In this example, I exclusively use GAF shingles, so there is only 1 subcategory.

Next, add Items, which are the different shingles. Each is priced differently per square, so these are all individual Items.

Addons can also be included to cover starter strips, ventilation, plywood, warranty, and essentially any other component that will drive the price.

Finally, pre-add costs for labor and materials.

This is just one of many ways to set up Price Book! The goal is to build a flow that works best.
