Multiple Scopes

Creating Option-Based Proposals in Builder Prime

Overview

The Multiple Scopes feature allows you to create different pricing options for the same project, such as good/better/best scenarios or Option A/Option B alternatives. Each scope maintains access to the same measurement sheets while allowing for different price book items to be applied.

Creating Multiple Scopes

  1. From the Scopes tab within a project, create the first scope as you normally would. You can use Price Book, task based, or the measure sheets to build the scope out. Once completed, click "Add Additional Scope to Project" to create another scope.

  2. Name your scope option (e.g., "Good Option," "Better Option," etc.)
  3. The new scope will have access to the same measurement sheets as your first scope if measurements were used.
  4. Build out the scope as you normally would.

Managing Multiple Scopes

The scopes landing page provides:

  • A list of all scope options for the project
  • The ability to rename scopes to reflect their purpose
  • Quick access to edit any scope option
  • The option to generate contracts from specific scopes

Applying Measurements Across Scopes

When working with multiple scopes:

  • The same measurement sheet is available in all scopes
  • You can apply different price book items to the same measurements in different scopes
  • This ensures consistent measurements across all options while allowing for different products or solutions

Creating Contracts from Scopes

You can generate contracts from any scope option:

  1. From the scopes tab, select the desired scope
  2. Click "Generate Contract"
  3. The system will create a contract that includes only the items from the selected scope
  4. The contracts tab will indicate which scope was used to generate each contract
  5. You also have the ability to generate contracts from the contracts tab as well.

Benefits of Multiple Scopes

  • Create good/better/best scenarios from the same measurements
  • Present different options to customers
  • Maintain consistent measurements across all options
  • Generate separate contracts for each option
  • Streamline the creation of alternative proposals
  • Can create phased approaches to larger projects
