How to Create a Request For Quote (RFQ)

Sometimes you might want to send a Request For Quote (RFQ) to one or more subcontractors to bid on. Here are the steps to do that! 

1. Go to the project

2. Click on Scope

3. Check which tasks you want on the RFQ

4. Click on Add to RFQ

5. You're able to merge with an existing RFQ if needed

6. You can check or uncheck the boxes to show notes

7. You can add any additional details as needed

8. Chose a deadline date for your RFQ using the calendar

9. Click on 31

10. Add any additional notes to the subcontractor.

11. Click on Create RFQ

12. You're able to add attachments if needed

13. Click on Subcontractors

14. Click on the Select box to activate

15. Choose your subcontractors from the drop-down menu

16. Click on the Selected box to activate

17. Click the checkbox next to the subs you want to send the RFQ to

18. Click on Send RFQ

19. You'll be able to edit the email template if needed

20. You can also change the text on the button the sub will see and click on to view the job

21. You're able to attach any company files

22. Click on Send

23. Once a sub bids on the job, you'll receive an email notification

24. Clicking on the button in the email will bring you to the bids on your RFQ

You can also access this in the Subcontractor menu option on the left-hand sidebar in Builder Prime. RFQs are at the bottom.

25. Click on View Details

26. Any notes from the subcontractor back to you will be here.

27. Before accepting a bid, add any terms and conditions needed

28. Click on Accept Bid & Create Purchase Order

29. The RFQ will update automatically and send out emails to the lost/not accepted bids.
