This article goes over how to add a second sales person to an opportunity and the impact on reporting.
Builder Prime now allows you to assign a second sales rep to a client opportunity. If you don't need two reps assigned, no big deal, you can leave the dropdown blank.
Adding the Second Sales Rep
Within a client opportunity, the dropdown for the primary sales rep is labeled "Sales Person", and the dropdown for a second sales rep is labeled "Sales Person 2". When filling out the form, choose either a primary or a primary and secondary sales rep, and save the record. The assigned sales reps will also carry forward to the project when creating the estimate.
‼️IMPORTANT NOTE: At this time, we are unable to assign multiple reps to a sales appointment. The primary rep will automatically assign by default. The second sales person will need to manually schedule the meeting on their calendar.
How does this affect reporting?
When looking at reporting, the overall company calculations will be accurate and count the unique opportunities and projects. If a report is broken down by sales person, both sales reps assigned to the same project will have separate rows.
The images below paint a better picture of what this will look like from a reporting perspective.
In the screenshot above, we can see that there were 3 opportunities added to the system. One of those opportunities had two sales reps assigned. When the numbers are broken out by sales person, each assigned rep will show as having 1 opportunity, even though it was the same shared client they were assigned to. This is because the breakdown is measuring individual employee performance versus overall company performance. The company KPIs are still available at the top of the report and within additional tables.
This table shows the key metric tallies broken out by sales person. Again, we see here that the individual reps have 1 tally each due to there being a client that had 2 reps assigned. We can also see the overall company tallies reflected in the bottom row of the table. Even though there are 4 tallies in the column, the overall company metric does not count the shared opportunity twice. This ensures company KPIs are always accurate, but you're still able to track individual performance.
